At Double Helix School, learning is a dynamic, interconnected journey.
We blend the structure of traditional academic subjects with the creativity of non-traditional electives, offering students the freedom to explore their passions while building essential skills. From core subjects to a vibrant range of electives and a deep commitment to the arts, our program fosters curious minds and innovative thinkers.
Students take both traditional classes — English language arts, math, social studies and science — and non-traditional elective classes that synthesize all of the subjects.
Students have an amazing array of Elective Classes to choose from. Some vary each semester; some are mainstays of the school. Past classes have included origami, engineering, Spanish, music appreciation, digital art, anime, tea & poetry, Lego League, dance, Dungeons & Dragons, yearbook, literary magazine, debate, drama, Chess & Community, hiking, and so much more.
We hold the Arts on par with the academic subjects because the Arts help us problem solve, communicate, innovate, and create...all essential to STEM fields and any other interests the students might have.
